In most cases, the buyer (client) pays for the home inspection. Since the inspection is performed to protect the buyer’s interests, it’s their responsibility to hire the inspector and cover the cost.
The seller is not required to pay for a buyer’s inspection. However, in some situations—such as competitive markets or during negotiations—the seller may agree to pay or reimburse part of the inspection fee as an incentive.
By paying for your own inspection, you ensure that the inspector is working solely on your behalf, giving you an unbiased report about the property’s condition.
