Once repairs are agreed upon, there are two main ways to verify that the work has been completed properly:
- Re-inspection by your home inspector: Many buyers choose to hire the same inspector to return after repairs are finished. This ensures an independent, professional review of the work.
- Documentation from the seller: You can request paid invoices and receipts from licensed contractors who performed the repairs. This confirms that the work was done by qualified professionals.
Both options help protect you by making sure issues identified in the original inspection were addressed correctly before closing on the home.
